Moving has been apart of me from the moment I took my first steps. I grew up playing all sports, from basketball to softball, even extreme sports such as wakeboarding and snowboarding. I fell in love with basketball and knew that I wanted to play in college. I was told that I was too small by those around me and by college scouts, but I did not hear them. I knew I could prove them wrong. This is where I learned to love the grind of training and the importance of nutrition.
I played basketball and softball at Mississippi College where I got a Masters in Exercise Science. Being a college athlete, you train, practice, eat and sleep. During my playing days, I fell in love with the training part and became interested in Strength and Conditioning. During my Masters, I was an assistant basketball coach for Mississippi College. I also helped with the strength and conditioning program for both women’s basketball and softball.
In 2015-2016 I moved back to Texas to become a Physical Education Teacher/Coach at Hughes Middle School. My passion is to inspire the youth of today to love exercising and understand the importance of health and wellness. During this time, I went to a local gym and did your traditional strength and conditioning style workouts, but something was missing. Being a college athlete, you fall in love with the competition and the feeling of being apart of something.
In January of 2017, I joined CrossFit Burleson and the rest is history. After 2 years, CrossFit has become a passion of mine and I knew it was a calling for me to become a coach. I want to help everyone achieve their goals and create habits they can sustain for a lifetime.
